Overall Eastbourne Sportive Competitor Information (PDF)
The Eastbourne Cycling Festival (ECF) Sportive is all new for 2013, with a challenging route designed to test your climbing ability AND over a distance which means you will finish the ride with plenty of time to spare to take in other events that the Festival has to offer.
The ECF Sportive 2013, based on the Western Lawns on Eastbourne’s seafront, starts on the Festival closed road circuit, which will host some competitive racing later in the day. The route showcases some classic East Sussex scenery, following a most scenic road route of 50 miles/ 80 kilometres that takes in some iconic and demanding climbs with over 3,200 feet (1,000 metres) of climbing, including Firle Beacon, High ‘n Over, The Ramp and Beachy Head, beautiful country lanes, sweeping descents, fantastic views, with first class professional support from the Festival team. Whilst the route is not as long as in the past, it does mean you will get back before everyone else has gone home, while at the same time still have a testing ride. Chip timing with Gold, Silver or Bronze time targets AND for those using Strava, attempt to achieve King/Queen of the Mountain status over the Strava segments. See the Strava section for more details

See the Route Profile page and the Strava pages online to check out the segments. The start of each segment will be marked by a green roundel and the end by a chequered roundel, so you will know when to apply maximum power.
At the finish, go to the main HQ marquee to log-in to your Strava account & upload your ride – laptops and Garmin connection leads will be available, smartphone/android apps can upload instantly.
